We are
now accepting new patients!
Please call our Abingdon Office (276) 739-7942
to schedule an appointment.
Our office, as well as the American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry, recommends that your child visit the dentist by his/her 1st
birthday. You can make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and
positive. Your child should be informed of the visit and told that the
dentist and their staff will explain all procedures and answer any questions.
The less to-do concerning the visit, the better.
It is best if you refrain from using words around your
child that might cause unnecessary fear, such as "needle",
"shot", "pull", "drill" or "hurt". The office makes a practice of using words that convey the same
message, but are pleasant and non-frightening to the child.
If
your child is over the age of 3, we ask that you allow them to accompany our
staff through the dental experience. We are all highly experienced in
helping children overcome anxiety. Separation anxiety is not uncommon in
children, so please try not to be concerned if your child exhibits some
negative behavior. This is normal and will soon diminish. Studies and
experience have shown that most children over the age of 3 react more
positively when permitted to experience the dental visit on their own and in
an environment designed for children.
We strive to make each and every visit to
our office a fun one!

Starting at Age 1
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the
American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of
Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a
"Dental Home" for your child by
one year of age.
The Dental Home is
intended to provide a place other than the
Emergency Room for parents.
Pleasant First Visit
When the child is seen at one year, the first
visit can be pleasant and uneventful, introducing the child and
parents to the dental office. Emphasis is on the developmental
assessment of the child’s oral health. Caries (tooth decay) or
developmental disturbances can be managed early. Fluoride varnish
may be applied to counteract beginning decay on newly erupted
teeth.

Testimonials
Abingdon Pediatric Dentistry Staff are very good
with kids, they try to comfort them so they feel at ease to get the
work done. Dr. Rolon
takes time with kids instead of hurrying.
She has their best interest at heart.
I have six kids, and trust all of the people who work at this
office. I would tell
other parents to take their kids to there office.
-Lesa-
Thank you for providing a comfortable atmosphere
for the children and for the patience, time, and consideration shown
with every child. I
especially thank you for the hard work and dedication and compassion
that you put into my daughter’s case.
I would like to thank the staff at Abingdon Pediatric
Dentistry. Keep up the
good work!!!
-Sam-
Just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you.
My daughter had a terrible experience with a dentist
previously. To put it
nicely, he scared her so bad, she had nightmares.
Now, thanks to your wonderful staff and dentist she can’t
wait to go back and see you.
Good job guys.
You are the best. I will
forever be grateful and will recommend your office to everyone I
know.
-Brandie-
Our family is excited about having such a
wonderful dental office.
We have been telling our friends all about you.
We are so thankful that you were willing to see
our child and fix his tooth immediately and do a fantastic job of it
too! Thank you so much.
We hope we will be able to return the favor.
Abingdon
Pediatric Dentistry is a practice centered
and focused on your child from the minute
you walk through the door.
As your child enters all
uncertainties about a dentist’s office
vanish and they are swept up in the magical
environment that was created just for them.
A movie room, games, and a real LIVE
Nemo fish tank welcome them along with the
staff.
As a mother of a special needs child, we have spent
much of the last eight years in many doctor’s offices from Knoxville to
Nashville to Ashville to Charlottesville and even though some of them
have been wonderful, truly none of them have been as concerned as
Abingdon Pediatric Dentistry when it comes to a positive experience for
my daughter. Even beyond her
excellent dental care, I am often met at the car by Dr. Rolon’s husband
John and offered help in unloading her wheelchair and getting her into
the office.
Dr. Rolon and her team truly do strive every day
to make your child feel like a star and through this they give you
as a parent or guardian the peace of mind in knowing that you are
giving your child the best dental care available.
