Mission Statement
The purpose
of our office is to enhance the quality of
life of those people who come to us for
their dental health care.
We are
committed to excellence in our practice;
equally as important, we are committed to
the creation of an environment that is open,
friendly, and a fun place to be. When
someone leaves our office, we want them to
feel better about themselves. We
believe that every child deserves a happy
and healthy smile.
Your child's
smile can last a lifetime, and it is our
goal to provide thorough and gentle care
that can make this a reality.
Evelyn
Rolon, D.M.D.
In the summer of
2003, my husband and I brought our daughter
to a Suzuki music summer camp at Emory &
Henry College. For two weeks during
that summer we made our home in the
beautiful town of Abingdon, VA. During
that short period of time, we fell in love
with the town and its people. In
December of that same year, we took another
trip and it was then decided that we were
going to make Abingdon our new home.
I am originally
from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico,
located in the Caribbean. In 1979 I
received my doctorate degree of Medical
Dentistry, at the University of Puerto Rico,
School of Dentistry. I was awarded a
certificate of merit from the Academy of
Pediatric Dentistry for my outstanding
performance with children during my doctoral
career. I also was honored for having the
grade point average out of the females in my
graduating class. I practiced for
three years as a general dentist in my own
private office.
In 1982, I was
accepted at an excellent Pediatric Dentistry
Residency program at St. Christopher's
Hospital for Children, in Philadelphia,
which was a joint venture with the Temple
University School of Dentistry. After
finishing with my training, I decided to
return to Puerto Rico to practice at the
Pediatric Hospital in San Juan. I also
established a solo practice in the same
area.
Since we moved
to southwest Virginia, we have been very
active in the community. My daughter
has been part of the Youth Symphony of the
Mountains, in Kingsport. She also
participates in Girl Scouts and is in the
marching band at her school. We also
volunteer for Wonder Kids during the year,
helping with the kids and taking care of the
horses. My husband is an active member
of the Kiwanis Club in Abingdon and also a
financial committee member at church.
If there is any time left during the week, I
dedicate some time to my favorite hobbies
photography and scrapbooking. We love
pets, especially our dogs and horses!
I belong to the
Academy of Laser Dentistry which is a well
recognized organization in the United
States, and has members all over the world
dedicated to the regulation and
certification of Laser Dentistry. I am
an active member of the ADA, Tennessee,
Virginia, and Puerto Rico Dental
Associations. I also belong to the
American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and
the Southeastern Society of Pediatric
Dentistry. I have been part of the
Surgical staff of the Bristol Regional
Medical Center, and the Bristol Surgery
Center since I have moved to the area.
Our main goal is
to offer the latest technology that will
help our team give you the best dental
treatment that your child deserves.
Creating an environment in which all can
enjoy the dental experience, making it
special and rewarding for your child.
Your child's
smile is his treasure; let us help you make
that healthy and precious smile last for a
lifetime!
I thank you for
choosing us to keep your child's smile a
healthy one. I look forward to serving
you, your family and the community for years
to come.
